Zola V. Dennis, 98, Oblong, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 5:35 p.m. She was residing at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL.
Zola was born on June 25, 1917 in Oblong, IL and was the daughter of Russell Coulter and Carrie (Jones) Coulter. On June 5, 1936 she married Fremont Almond Dennis, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1986.
Zola was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1936 and a member of EUM Church in Oblong. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed traveling with her husband; quilting and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Zola is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Billie “Bill” and Judy Dennis of Joliet, IL; Dean and Rose Dennis of Wilmington, IL; a daughter and son-in-law Carol Ann and Gary Williams of Seymour, MO; and daughter-in-law Mary Dennis of Oblong; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren; a niece, Mary Menacher and nephew Jim Coulter.
Preceding Zola in death were her parents; husband Fremont Dennis; one son Joe Dennis; five brothers ~ Bill, Ausby, Henry, Russell and John; two sister ~ Goldia and Sylvia.
