Victor “Vic” Kingery, 73, Oblong, Illinois, passed away Monday August 19, 2013 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois.
Born in Crawford County, Illinois, on April 23, 1940, he was the son of Clyde H. Kingery Sr. and Eva M. (Good) Kingery. Vic was a life time stock and grain farmer in Crawford County, Illinois and also co-owned the Kingery Saw Mill at Kingery Corner with his Dad, brother and sister for many years. He attended Oblong High School and enjoyed stock car racing; participating in and attending tractor pulls; Vic and Pat enjoyed motorcycle riding; he loved to “tinker” with anything in his garage and paint anything he could different colors and enjoyed to just “hang out” at Casey’s in Oblong, Illinois.
On October 2, 1957, Vic married Patricia A. Meeks and they remained married for 56 years until his passing. He is survived by his wife Pat Kingery; daughter Debbie Sheridan and friend Bill Stephens of Willow Hill, IL; two granddaughters Dr. Jessica and Nick Sheridan Babare of Clearwater, FL and Jennifer Sheridan of Willow Hill, IL; great-granddaughter Oliva; brother and sister-in-law Clyde Jr and Marlene Kingery of Robinson, IL; his only living Aunt Leoma Kingery Dryden of Toledo, IL as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Precededing Vic in death were his parents; one son Gregory D. “Greg” Kingery on May 5, 2013; an infant brother Gary and infant sister Linda and an older sister Evelyn Kingery Millsap as well as several aunts and uncles.
Pastor Bill Ikemire will officiate the funeral service and burial will be in Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, Illinois.
