Vera Mae Tracy, 90, Oblong, IL., went to be with her Lord and Savior at 10:50 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014. She was residing at Helia Health Care in Olney, Illinois.
Vera was born February 24 1924 in Crawford County, IL. and was the daughter of Sylvester Littlejohn and Hazel (White) Littlejohn. On December 3, 1941, she married John Edgar Tracy who preceded her in death on July 8, 1979.
Vera was a homemaker and care giver. She was a member of Prior Grove Baptist Church. Vera enjoyed gardening, working outside, having dogs and cats but especially loved the time she spent with her family.
Vera is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law E. Keith and Doris Tracy of Robinson, IL., L. Kent and Katie Tracy of Robinson, IL., Douglas A. Tracy of Springfield, IL., Stanley P. Tracy of Olney, IL., Phillip M. and Jody Tracy of Oblong, IL. and Joyce Tracy of Oblong, IL.; three daughters and two sons-in-law Georgia Ann Slane of Olney, IL., Carolyn and Jim McElhiney of Robinson, IL. and Debbie M. and Scott Johnston of Houston, TX.; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Vera is preceded is death by her parents; husband; one son John Wayne Tracy; one granddaughter Lisa Parola; one brother Forest Littlejohn and one sister Velma Russell.
Vera will be buried next to her husband in Prior Grove Cemetery, rural Oblong, IL.
