Thelma Ruth Tinsky, 88, of Fishers, IN, formerly of Oblong, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:01 a.m. ET on Thursday, September 24, 2015. She was at her home surrounded by her family.
Thelma was born on January 16, 1927 in Blanchester, OH, the daughter of Allen Grandberry Thurman Osborn and Anne Laura (Anderson) Osborn. On August 1, 1951 she married Robert Jack Tinsky and he survives.
Thelma was a graduate of Wilmington College in Wilmington, OH. She was an elementary and nursery school teacher retiring in 1900 having taught in Pitsburg, Lancaster and Marion, Ohio and Decatur and South Bend, Indiana. Thelma was in charge of a private pre-school at Oblong First Christian Church, which later became “Kid’s Kingdom” in Oblong for many years. Thelma also taught private kindergarten at a church in Hebron, IN and a Christian school in South Bend, IN. Thelma assisted her husband Bro. Robert “Bob” Tinsky when he was minister at First Christian Church of Oblong from 1978 ~ 1986.
Thelma is survived by her husband Bob Tinsky, Fishers, IN; two sons and daughters-in-law Rodney and Terri Tinsky, Mt. Orab, OH, Rick and Diana Tinsky, New Cumberland, WV; three daughters and sons-in-law Robin and Pat Lovett, Carmel, IN, Rhonda Clark, Carmel, IN and Ruth and Bob Fiscus, Robinson, IL; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Thelma in death were her parents; four brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Alice Osborn, Burch and Verna Osborn, Guy and Doris Osborn, and Paul and Irene Osborn.
