79, Oblong, IL (Bend Area)
Shirley A. (Shidler) Geiger, 79, of Oblong, IL (the Bend Area) passed away on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
She was born in Lawrence County, IL on November 15, 1938 to George Shidler and Juanita (Glosser) Shidler. On March 15, 1968 she married Frank Geiger who survives.
Shirley had worked as a laborer at TRW in Marshall and Robinson. She was a member of the Saint Valentine Catholic Church, Robinson High School Class of 1956, Ste. Marie American Legion Post 932 Auxiliary and the Crawford County V.F.W Post 4549 Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, shopping, gambling and her animals.
She is survived by her husband Frank Geiger of the Bend area, along with several nieces.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a son Ronald Gene Geiger and two brothers Gene Shidler and Bob Shidler.
It was Shirley’s wish to be cremated and to not have any services. Interment of cremated remains will be in Saint Valentine Cemetery. The family requests, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Bend Community Building and may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.
