Rita Darlene Mikeworth, 73, of Oblong, Illinois passed away at her home at 8:33 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
Born in Oblong, Illinois on July 2, 1940, she was the daughter of Arthur Keith Nolan and Juanita (Bollinger) Nolan. Rita was employed as an Administrative assist for F/S; Lincoln Land F/S; Growmark in Bloomington, Illinois and Des Moines, Iowa. Rita then worked at Pepsico retiring in 2004; then as a sales clerk at Bertram Pharmacy, Robinson, Illinois until 2012. She was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1958; a member of the First Christian Church of Oblong. Rita was very active in and helped arrange the meetings for the OHS Class of 1958; Rita was always there to assist in the various Oblong Community projects.
Rita is survived by her mother, Juanita Matheny, Oblong, IL.; her son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Debbie Mikeworth of Robinson, IL.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Kelly Knoblett and Gary McBride of Fillmore, IN.; Shelly and John Moore of Taft, Ca.; a brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Mary Jane Nolan of Oblong, IL.; and a sister, Rebecca Stahl, of Oblong, IL; seven grandchildren: Brittany Mikeworth and Stephanie Ayers, both of Robinson, IL.; Levi and Samantha Knoblett, Palestine, IL.; Danielle Knoblett, Fillmore, IN.; Shannon Knoblett, Palestine, IL.; Lacey Blankenbeker, Taft, Ca.; Will Moore, Taft, CA.; two great-grandchildren: Hentley Mikeworth Nethery, Robinson, IL.; and Jaylin Knoblett, Fillmore, IL.; three nieces, Cynthia Jo Haynes of Springfield, IL; Gina and Vint Booker of Oblong, IL.; Angie and Donnie Nichols of Robinson, IL; as well as great nieces and great nephews.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Arthur K. Nolan; step-mother, Gladys Nolan; and step-father, Ira Matheny.
A celebration of Rita’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Kibbie Kabins Reception Hall, north of Oblong, Illinois, near White Oak Church. A casual social gathering of music and memories for friends and family will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Kibbie Kabins Reception Hall on Sunday October 6, 2013.
