PUBLIC GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Westlawn Memorial Park, Newton, IL., with Bro Dee Wolfe officiating. Military rites at the cemetery will be conducted by the Oblong American Legion Post #219.

Raphael Thomas “Ralph” Rennier, 96, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Monday June 9, 2014 at 5:12 p.m. at the Burgin Manor, Olney, Illinois.
Ralph was born on December 17, 1917, in Ste. Marie Township, Jasper County, Illinois. He was the son of Jacob P. Rennier and Isabell (Michl) Rennier. On July 15, 1943 he married Florine “Joy” Harvey and she preceded him in death on May 7, 2012.
Ralph served in the United States Army during WWII; was employed at Prairie Farms Creamery of Olney, IL., in the maintenance department, retiring in 1976; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olney, IL.; and Olney American Legion Post #30. Ralph enjoyed restoring antique cars; woodworking, but working with cars is what he liked the best.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael “Mike” and Vickie Rennier of Olney, IL.; one grandson and his wife, David and Michele Rennier of Princeton, KY.; 2 nieces and a nephew.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joy; one brother, Michael A. Rennier; two sisters, Sally Menke and Eileen Michl.
