Oma Louise Lackey, 99, of Robinson, IL passed away on Sunday March 5, 2017 at 2:00 A.M. E.T. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
Oma was born in Crawford County Illinois on October 25, 1917 to Arthur Lackey and Jenny May (Scott) Lackey.
Oma was a real “Rosie the Riveter”; during WWII she built bombers for the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. She was also a waitress in Robinson, worked at F.W. Woolworths in Robinson, IL for ten years and worked at Crawford County State bank for 25 years as head teller. She was a member of the Dogwood-Prairie Methodist Church. Oma was lifelong resident of Crawford County, IL. She was very active within her church especially reading until her eye sight would not allow. Oma was also active with the Crawford County Senior Citizens and their fund raisers.
Oma is survived by one brother Robert Lackey, Terre Haute, IN along with several nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
Preceding Oma in death were her parents and three sisters; Mildred Annie Bliss, Mary Becktall and Wilma Miller.
