Jean (Wever) Alexander, 82, Effingham, IL and formerly of Newton, IL passed away of 3:15 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012, at the St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois. Born in Lostant, Illinois on August 16, 1929, she was the daughter of John N. and Lena Ethel (Brown) Wever. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and writing poetry.
On December 28, 1951, she married Vernon C. Alexander of Newton, Illinois; he preceded her in death on October 18, 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Manley, Max and Roger Wever; one sister, Helen Kibler and two sisters-in-law, Martha Wever and Helen Wever.
Survivors include her children, Dewayne & Sharilyn Alexander, Robert & Sheri Alexander and Carol & William North; six grandchildren, Shanna Alexander, Joshua Alexander, Austin Alexander, Tina & Richard Pimentel, Samantha North and Robert North; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill & Rose Marie Wever, Art Wever and John & Goldie Wever; one sister-in-law, Betty Wever and several nieces and nephews.
Denver Ferguson will officiate the funeral service.
