FUNERAL MASS: 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 506 West Missouri, Oblong, IL with Fr. Jim Buerster and Fr. Aloysius O. Ndeanaefo officiating.  Burial will follow next to her husband Floyd in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, IL.

Mildred F. Hinterscher, 88, Oblong, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 7, 2015.  She was a patient in the Magnolia Center, Robinson, IL.

Mildred was born on July 20, 1927 in Wendelin, IL and was the daughter of Carl Buerster and Cecilia (Kuenstler) Buerster.  On September 9, 1947 she married the love of her life Floyd A. Hinterscher, who preceded her in death on September 21, 2000.  Together they raised eight wonderful children.

Mildred and Floyd were the owners of “Floyd’s Place” in Oblong for many years.  Mildred was also a homemaker.  She attended school in Wendelin and Noble, IL and graduated from Noble High School.  Mildred was a founding member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong, IL, member of the Altar Society and was awarded the 2013 Women of Distinction Award, Our Lady of Good Counsel Award.  Mildred was also a member of the Oblong American Legion Post #219 Auxiliary, loved to put together jig saw puzzles and after completing them making them into framed pictures, crocheting making all the kids afghans and Mildred and Floyd loved to dance the schottische.  She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals watching the games on TV all the time.

Mildred is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Ron and Jeanne Hinterscher and Tim Hinterscher all of Oblong, IL; three daughters and sons-in-law Jan and Doug Long of Newton, IL, Rita and Keith Wirey of Robinson, IL and Tammy and Dave Jaben of Houston, TX; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Rose Marie Buerster of Newton, IL and Eleanor Buerster of Salem, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons Kevin and Tom Hinterscher; one daughter Diane Hinterscher; three brothers Harold, Delbert and Henry Buerster and four sisters Marie Zwilling, Emma Weidner, Florine Weidner and Virginia Steber.
