Michael G. “Mike” Knight, 63, of Robinson, IL passed away at 7:00pm on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at his residence.
It was Michael’s wish to not have any services.
Private family burial will be held in the Oblong Cemetery.
There will be a casual gathering of family and friends to celebrate Michael’s Life on Sunday November 12, 2017 from 2:00 -5:00pm at the Oblong Community Building.
In lieu of flowers the family request that expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Southeastern Illinois Hospice with envelopes available at or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.
Mike was born in Rantoul, IL on August 13, 1954 to James Fredrick and Madlyne Mae (Denson) Knight. On August 7, 2011 he married Kathy Sloan who survives.
Mike worked as an operator on the payday line at Hershey in Robinson, IL. Michael was raised by his dad and Velda Knight.
Mike is survived by his wife Kathy Knight, Robinson, IL, son and daughter-in-law Shannon and Mary Knight, Robinson, IL, daughter and son-in-law Michelle L. and Chad Adams, Robinson, IL, step-son Bill and Sarah Burke, Oblong, IL and two step-daughters Debra and Brent Anderson, Oblong, IL and Amy Carter, Robinson, IL. Mike is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law Guy and Kate Knight, Oblong, IL along with twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Greg Knight.
