Friends and Family are asked to meet at Pulliam Funeral Home,Oblong, Illinois at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 to go in procession to a Public Graveside Service at Prairie Cemetery, north of Oblong, Illinois.  The family request casual dress only at the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Salvation Army with envelopes at the graveside service or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home, P.O. Box 121, Oblong, Illinois 62449.

Marvin C. Randolph, 68, Charleston, Illinois passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

Marvin was born in Robinson, Illinois on June 12, 1945; he was the son of Clyde and Etta “Lorene” (Perrine) Randolph.  He was a graduate of Oblong High School ~ Class of 1963 and Eastern Illinois University ~ Class of 1993 where he was a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. On December 2, 1972, Marvin married Kathy Jean Westphal who survives.  Marvin worked in food service at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois.  He loved nature, camping, wild life and he and Kathy traveled in their camper to 45 of the 50 United States and also traveled in Canada.  Marvin’s favorite sports team was the Chicago Bears.

Marvin is survived by his wife Kathy Randolph; two nephews, George & Daphne Smith and Joe Jr. & Terri Smith; a niece, Kathleen Smith; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and one brother-in-law, Joe Smith.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kent Randolph at age 15 and his sister, Linda Sue Smith who passed away in 2013.
