Marilyn “Sue” King passed away at 5:00 P.M. on Friday May 12, 2017  at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL.

Celebration of Sue’s Life Service will be at 10:00 A.M Wednesday May 17, 2017 at Pulliam Funeral Home Oblong, IL

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday May 16, 2017 at Pulliam Funeral Home Oblong, IL.

The family request that in lieu of flowers an expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association with envelopes available at or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.

Sue was born on September 11, 1940 in Crawford County to Darwin V. York and Madeline B. (Oxley) York. On May 10, 1959 she married Ralph Gene King who survives. Sue was proud to be a farmer’s wife and Co-Owner of the King Family Farms. Sue was a member of the Seed Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Oblong, a member the Oblong High School Class of 1958 and also a member of The American Quarter Horse Association. Sue had won many World Championship titles with her horses. She also loved her dogs.

Sue is survived by her husband Gene King, Hardinville, IL; one son Randall V. “Randy” King, Hardinville, IL; and one daughter and son-in-law Penny and Brent Powell, Hardinville, IL.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents Darwin and Madeline York.
