Lyman M. Catt, 88, of Oblong, IL passed away at 9:29 am on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
Lyman was born on May 2, 1928 in Robinson, IL and was the son of Harlan “Shorty” Catt and Frances Mahalia (Rich) Catt. In 1949 he married Anita Louise Lorance and then later he married Wanda Jean Killian.
Lyman worked for Illinois Cargo, a trucking company, as an over the road driver and then later in his career as a dispatcher. He retired in 1998 and moved to Oblong, IL. After moving to Oblong, he was a mail runner for First Robinson Savings Bank. He Served in the United States Army from 1949-1951 and was a member of the Hardinville United Methodist Church. Lyman enjoyed watching basketball and baseball, especially The Chicago Cubs! He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling and bingo.
Lyman is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Rick and Sue Catt, Oblong, IL, Tad and Ruth Ellen Chandler, Fishers, IN, Walter and Glenda Catt, Peru, IN. One daughter and son-in-law; Tanya and Joel Truver, Dyer, IN. Twelve Grandchildren; Mandy, Lucas, Brandon, Camille, Carson, Craig, Tricia, Joey, Branden, Megan, Ashley, Gerrad and Ten Great-Grandchildren. One brother and sister-in-law Leonard and Gloria Catt, Oblong, IL Nephews; Kevin Catt, Rick Allen Catt, Great-Nephews; Casey Catt, Clayton Catt.
Preceding Lyman in death were his parents; One daughter Shirley Catt and Grandson Eric Hill.
