CELEBRATION OF LORIS’S LIFE: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL.  with Dwight McDaniel officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, rural Annapolis, IL.

Loris E. Bowman, 90, Oblong, IL went to be with his Lord and Savior at 8:21 a.m. ET on Thursday, September 24, 2015.  He was a patient at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN.

Loris was born on March 25, 1925, in Annapolis, IL the son of Jamie Bowman and Belva (Jackson) Bowman.  On May 10, 1952 he married Juanita Sears and she survives.

Loris graduated from Hutsonville High School class of 1941; was a farmer; a grounds keeper at both Crawford County Country Club and Oak Glen Golf Courses; and he was a Farm Bureau advisor for Clay County then transferred to Crawford County for 35 years.  He served his country in the Navy during World War II and a member of USS Yorktown CV-10 Association and Foundation, Inc.  Loris was a member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church of Robinson.  He enjoyed bowling, having competed in several bowling tournaments, golfing, deer hunting, and trap shooting.

Loris is survived by his wife, Juanita Bowman of Oblong, IL; a son and daughter-in-law Rev. David Lee and Susan Bowman, Hillsboro, NC; two great-grandchildren Arianna Cedar, Hillsboro, NC and Jaydin Wheeler, Creedmore, NC; a brother and sister-in-law Jim and Donna Bowman, Annapolis, IL; a sister-in-law Shirley Bowman, Robinson, IL; a niece Karen Bowman, Robinson, IL and a nephew Bobby and Barbara Bowman, Westville, IL along with one great niece and three great nephews.

Preceding Loris in death were his parents; a brother Charlie Bowman and a granddaughter Heather Bowman.
