Lloyd B. Poehler, 91, Willow Hill, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at The Magnolia Center at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.
Lloyd was born on March 4, 1924 in Montrose, IL and was the son of Theodore J. Poehler and Tressa M. (Scott) Poehler. On August 22, 1946 he married Lenora J. White, who preceded him in death on December 3, 2012.
Lloyd was a lifelong farmer. Early in his life he worked on the railroad and later as a factory worker for Norge. He was a member of the Effingham High School Class of 1943. He was a very active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Newton, IL. Lloyd served as a board member and President of both the Oblong High School Board and Oblong District Unit #4 School board. He also was involved for many years with Jasper County Farm Bureau and Jasper County Soil Conservation Committee. Lloyd enjoyed telling jokes; loved animals, especially German Shepherd dogs and was an avid fan for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Lloyd is survived by a son Ted J. Poehler, Willow Hill, IL; two daughters and a son-in-law Jane Ruff, Fishers, IN and Judy and Mark Newbold, Oblong, IL; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren; three step great-great grandchildren; two sisters Rhea Baker, Bloomington, IL and Marilyn Coleman, Springfield, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lloyd in death were his parents; wife; one great grandson Joshua Fiscus and two brothers Eugene and Theo Poehler.
