Linda Sue Smith, 64, rural Oblong, Illinois passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013, at her residence.
Linda was born in Effingham, Illinois on August 29, 1948, she was the daughter of Clyde T. Randolph and Lorene (Perrine) Randolph. Linda was an LPN at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois for over 20 years and was a teacher’s aide in the Oblong Grade School Library for many years. Linda’s hobbies included fishing, four wheeling, a fan of PBR and loved to shop for anything. She enjoyed spending time and visiting with her friends, family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On July 26, 1968, Linda married Joseph “Joe” Smith, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, George & Daphne Smith and Joe Jr. & Terri Smith; a daughter, Kathleen Smith; seven grandchildren, Brandi & Chris Stephenson, Tasha Adams, Justin White, Ethan Smith, Ashley & Robbie Kinney, Johnathan Smith and Krystle Bolen; five great-grandchildren, Aydin Musgrave, Lyam Stephenson, Myiah Stephenson, Mackenzie Stephenson and Riley Kinney; and a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin & Kathy Randolph.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kent Lee Randolph and a sister, Beverly Ann Randolph, who died at birth.
It was Linda’s wish to be cremated and cremation rites were accorded and burial will be at a later date.
