Celebration of Leah’s Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday October 21, 2017 at the Oblong Cornerstone Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in the Oblong Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the Oblong Cornerstone Wesleyan Church.

Leah F. Heck, 96, of Oblong, IL passed away on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, IL.
Leah was born in Oblong, IL on April 22, 1921 to Milo and Rachel (Miller) Banning. On June 17, 1937 she married Ray Bruce Heck who preceded her in death on June 10, 2005.
Leah work at TRW Electronics factory in Oblong for 5 years and was a homemaker. Leah was a member of the Oblong Cornerstone Wesleyan Church. She was very active in her church until her health would not allow, she never judged people by what was going on and she took care of and raised four disabled children. She enjoyed growing older style roses in lattice work and all her cats. Leah loved her family and practiced that love daily.
Leah is survived by three grandchildren Lisa Wilson, Oblong, IL, Kathy Wilson, Oblong, IL and Anita and Tim Benoit, Midlothian, TX; five great grandchildren Christopher “Chris” Wilson, James Wilson and Cody Wilson all of Oblong, IL, Nicole Ashley Benoit and Jessica Sue Benoit of Midlothian, TX; Leah is also survived by a brother Kenneth Banning, Robinson, IL and a sister Mary Ruth Banning Athens, IL along with several nieces and nephews.
Leah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three daughters Barbara Heck, Sue Wilson and Beverly F. Heck and a son David R. “Jake” Heck.
