Celebration of Judy’s Life will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday January 26, 2017 at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery next to husband David.

Judith K. “Judy” Kirk, 74, Robinson, IL passed away on Sunday January 22, 2017 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL.
Judy was born on February 7, 1942 in Robinson, IL and was the daughter of Charles F. “Chick” Montgomery and Waneta (Rittenour) Montgomery. On August 6, 1961 she married David Smith Kirk who preceded her in death in March 1987.
For the first part of her married life, Judy worked hard as a farmer’s wife and mother. Following the death of David, Judy spent many years running the Sonshine Daycare in her home. Later she continued caring for others as a caregiver for the elderly. She had also been Activity Director at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong. Growing up, she attended First Baptist Church, Robinson, IL with her family. After marriage, Judy was very active as a member of First Christian Church, Oblong, IL and later became a member of Highland Church of Christ, Robinson, IL. She was a member of the Robinson High School Class of 1960 and then attended a year at Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL. Judy enjoyed writing stories, poems and letters. She had the gift of encouragement, and shared it with others. She also enjoyed Sci-Fi, watching movies, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching and listening to Elvis and the Gaithers. Judy loved playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Judy is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Missy and Bill Greenwood, Cisne, IL; Mandy and Jeff Hill, Oblong, IL; Amy and Chris Painter, Jackson, GA and Martha “Marty” Kirk, Robinson, IL. She also had three sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Judith Kirk, Rochester, MN; Monty and Megan Kirk, Terre Haute, IN; and Benji and Andi Kirk, Bloomington, IN. Judy had twelve grandchildren: Jason Hill; Kayla (Hill) and Lance Weaver; Rachel Greenwood; Joel Greenwood; Bekah Greenwood; Gibson Painter; Josiah Kirk; Sophia Kirk; Tyler Kirk; Logan Kirk; Ronan Kirk and Connor Kirk; one great granddaughter Addy-Lee Painter; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Many special “adopted” family members along the way also survive her.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
