John William Sievers Jr., 88, of Oblong, IL (formally of Staunton, IL) passed away on Thursday June 27, 2019 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL.
He was born in Staunton, IL on December 12, 1930 to John William Sievers Sr. and Selma Sievers.
John was a farmer. He raised both hogs and cattle and did feed trials for Purina. He enjoyed bowling and polka dancing.
He is survived by two sons David Sievers, Oblong, IL and Michael Sievers and his wife Zeny, Oceanside, CA; one daughter Linda Sievers, Oblong, IL; and a son-in-law David Laker, Philo, IL along with 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and his brother Harry.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one daughter Susan Laker.
It was John’s wish that there be no services. The family requests that expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association. Memorials may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL. 62449.
