CELEBRATION OF JIM’S LIFE service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, corner of West Missouri and South Adams Streets, Oblong, IL with Pastor Mike Root officiating. Interment will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, IL
James L. “Jim” Seifert, 74, Hesperia, CA, formerly of Oblong, IL passed away on January 8, 2016 in Loma Linda, CA.
Jim was born on February 28, 1941 in Hammond, IN and was the son of James Seifert and Doris (Sappingfield) Seifert. Jim was married to Patricia A. “Patty” Colby and she survives.
Jim was a self-employed general contractor and could fix or build just about anything. He was the owner of Seifert Auto Sales and Garage in Oblong, IL for many years before he and Patty moved to California.
Jim is survived by his wife Patty; two sons and a daughter-in-law Greg Seifert of Long Beach, CA and Kent and Himani Williams of Walnut Creek, CA; a daughter Debra Seifert of Bloomfield, IN; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law Ray and Cindy Seifert of Gary, IN and Don and Phyllis Seifert of Crown Point, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jim in death are his parents; a son Curtis Seifert and his sister Evelyn Ketchem.
