Jack L. Kilburn, 73, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 6:20 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 in the Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois.

Born at home in Robinson, Illinois on July 16, 1940, Jack was the son of Vaughn E. Kilburn and Doris R. (Correll) Kilburn. His first job was when he was still in high school and he worked at Andy’s in Robinson, IL.  He later worked at the Kroger store in Robinson and then went  into management with Kroger for 13 1/2 years; farmed with his father-in-law until 1974; Management with Wal-Mart for ten years in different locations; then Jack and Bev moved back to Oblong in 1990 and started selling insurance; at the present time he was co-owner of J. Spencer Woodworth Insurance Agency, Robinson, IL.  Jack was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Oblong, Il.; and Pastor at Willow Hill Methodist Church, Willow Hill, IL. for the last 2 1/2 years.  He served as District Lay speaker over the Little Wabash and Embarras River Districts for over 30 years.  Member of the Robinson High School Class of 1958; President, Secretary and Treasurer for (L/CAEC) Lawrence/Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens for many years; former President and board member of the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, IL.  Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and his church work with many area churches over the years.

On October 12, 1958, he married Beverly K. Abel and she survivies. Jack and Bev were married for almost 55 years. Also surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Peggy Kilburn of Oblong, IL. and David Kilburn of Oblong, IL.; daughter and son-in-law Genee and Terry Davis of Robinson, IL.; two grandchildren Micha Kilburn of South Bend, IN. and Christopher and Danielle Davis of Arlington, WV.; two great-grandchildren Jackson and Collin Davis both of Arlington, WV; a niece Wendy Jo and Andy Shaffer of Tuscola, IL.; a great niece Haley Reifsteck of Tuscola, IL; a brother and sister-in-law, James Allen and Donna Jo Kilburn of Tuscola, IL;  an uncle and aunt Murray and Clara Correll of Hutsonville, IL;  an aunt Reginia Newlin of Hutsonville, IL; and several cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery.
