Howard Lee Newbold, 74, Oblong, Illinois, passed away at 10:15 A.M. on Saturday March 19, 2011 at his residence with his family at his bedside. Howard was born in Olney, Illinois, on Sertember 15, 1936, and was the son of John Lee Newbold and Madge Jeanette (Leggitt) Newbold. On June 22, 1958, he married Louise Sackrider who survives.

Howard was a life long farmer, co owner of Circle N Trailers, Oblong, Illinois, and with is son Cary, co owned C & H Equipment, Oblong, Illinois. He was a member of First Christian Church, Oblong for over 60 years and served many years as a Deacon of the church. Howard was a graduate of Oblong Township High School in 1954; member of the American Quarter Horse Association,  American Paint Horse Association and Oblong Antique Engine and Tractor Club. Howard raced Registered Quarter Horses and enjoyed collecting model farm tractors and antique tractors.

Howard is survived by his wife Louise; two sons and daughter-in-law Cary Lee Newbold and Jon Wayne & Melissa Newbold; daughter and son-in-law Jana & Scott Ackman; four grandchildren, Jeremy Ryan & Lyndsey Ackman, Brady Howard Newbold, Jenilee Louise & Chris Helm and Lukas Lee Newbold; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry & Charlotte Sackrider; sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws Marie & Bob Miller, Doris & Keith Tracy and Sharon & Terry Craig; also surviving are several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents.
