Harold W. Booker, 83, Willow Hill, Illinois passed away at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2012, at Richland Care and Rehab, Olney, Illinois. Harold was born in Brockville, Jasper County, Illinois on July 1, 1929, he was the son of Robert L. “R. L.” Booker and Eva Pearl Miller. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. He was employed as a caster for Brigg’s Pottery in Robinson, Illinois for 30 years, retiring in 1994; he was a lifelong farmer raising hogs and cattle; he mowed the Willow Hill Park for several years as well as several churches and yards. He attended the Willow Hill United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Newton American Legion. Harold loved to farm, mow, work jigsaw puzzles and quilting.
On April 5, 1958, Harold married Reta Ann Woodard, in Newton, Illinois and she survives. Also surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry & Karen Booker, Don & Delores Booker, Vince & Gina Booker and David & Marita Booker; eight grandchildren, Bradley, Doug and Trisha Booker, Zackary Booker, Garrett Booker, Anthony and Ross Booker and Charissa Smith; six great-grandchildren, Josh Slane, Maci Smith, Lacey Booker, Kelsey Williams, Austin and Christopher Booker; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Snyder, Ellen Rodgers, Marjorie & Darrell Shipman and Mona & Grant Neidigh; a sister-in-law, Bev Booker and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Harold in death were here parents; two sisters, Zella Fox and Anne Ford; two brothers, Sam and Gordan Booker.
Rev. Richard Houser will officiate the funeral service. Burial will be in the Brockville Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
