Celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday September 15, 2018 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy make take the form of a contribution to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.

Gary Connely, 73, of Robinson, IL passed away on Monday September 10, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

He was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma on April 28, 1945 to Glenn and Cleo (Shaffer) Connely.  On June 19, 1977 he married Martha (Slane) Connely, who survives.

Gary was self employed as a carpenter for many years.  He also had worked for Fair Rite and as a truck driver for Bill Cox Trucking.  He was a member of the Assembly of God in Robinson, IL and the Gordon Gun Club.  Gary enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, making his own fishing lures and taking care of his dogs.

He is survived by his wife Martha Connely, Robinson, IL; son Thaddeus Shane Connely, Louisville, IL; grandchildren Aaliyah Elaine Connely, Charleston, IL and Lucas Waytt Connely, Linton,IL. He is also survived by a father-in-law Robert Slane, Robinson, IL, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Barbara Powers, Annapolis, IL, sister-in-law Vicki Slane, Robinson, IL along with several nieces and nephews. Also very special friends Dale Milam of Hutsonville, IL who Gary always considered as a brother and Dee Everingham, his fishing buddy.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a son Jabriel Leon Connely and dear friend Phillip Oglesby.
