David L. “Dave” Pringle, 72, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at his residence. Born in Robinson, Illinois on October 16, 1938, he was the son of James S. Pringle and Magdelene (Einert) Pringle. He served with the U. S. Army. He was a mechanic for Seifert Automotive, Oblong, Illinois for 32 years; Fisher Auto Parts, Robinson, Illinois. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Robinson where he served as an Elder; Oblong American Legion Post #219; Tri-County Motorcycle Club; Oblong Masonic Lodge #644 AF&AM where he served as past Grand Master; life member of the National Street Machine Club; Crawford County Shrine Club and he was also a member of the Danville Consistory. Dave liked to tinker with cars, yard work and he loved to ride his motorcycle.
On February 11, 1962, he married Carol S. Bennett, who preceded him in death on March 7, 2000. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, James E. Pringle.
Dave is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Timothy D. & Ruth Pringle and Douglas M. Pringle; two grandchildren, Amada S. Pringle and Timothy J. “T.J.” Pringle; one brother and sister-in-law, Phillip W. & Shirley Pringle; a sister-in-law, Carol J. Pringle and nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
