A casual gathering of friends and family will be held Sunday July 22, 2012 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the Martin Township building just north of Hardinville, Illinois. All friends and family are encouraged to attend.

Daniel L. Shipman, 61, passed away at 5:46 p.m. Wednesday July 18, 2012, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, Illinois. He was born in Crawford County on June 13, 1951 and was the son of Henry Shipman and Juanita (Van Winkle) Shipman. He married Molly Lou Rich on December 22, 1971. She passed away on February 27, 2007.
Daniel was a construction worker all his life with Robinson Local #1180. He was a member of the Oblong Antique Tractor and Engine Club. His hobbies included make gas powered model cars, working on gas engines and lawn mowers. Daniel enjoyed fishing, grilling, being outside but especially loved pulling his grandchildren in a wagon behind his power chair.
Daniel is survived by two daughters and soon to be sons-in-laws Misty Shipman and her fiance Eddie Seibert and Christy Shipman and her fiance Kodie L. Krick; two grandchildren; sister Myra Brady; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and longtime companion Judy L. Stadge.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; wife and father-in-law and mother-in-law Tom and Laura Rich.
