Dale D. Chapman, 71, Frederick, Maryland and formerly of the Willow Hill, Illinois area passed away at 4:55 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012, at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Born in Willow Hill Twp., Jasper County, Illinois on August 21, 1941, he was the son of Harbin Riley Chapman and Oletha Mae (Murray) Chapman. He was employed with Amtrak as a ticket clerk for twenty-six years serving stations in Springfield, Mattoon, Decatur, Galesburg as well as many others. Dale was then elected to General Secretary-Treasurer of Transport and Communication Union Division #250. He was a member of the Transportation & Communication Union Division #250. His hobbies included metal detecting, bottle collecting and he was a Civil War history buff.
August, 1961, Dale married Rose (Dhom) Orr. Later on June 8, 1985, he married Kathryn “Kay” E. (Lovell), who survives. Also surviving are two sons and daugthers-in-law, Kraig & Suzanne Chapman and Kurtis & Jamie Chapman; a daughter, Kristi Chapman; seven grandchildren, Khristopher, Khyle, Khorey, Khaleb, Garrett, Kody & Kolton; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim & Melissa Chapman; three nieces, Katlin Snider, Kenzie Chapman and Kaylee Chapman; and one nephew, Karter Chapman. Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
Pastor Ed Groover will officiate the funeral service.
