CLARENCE’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE will be at 10:30 am on Friday January 6, 2017 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL.  Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery.

VISITATION will be 5:00 -7:00 pm Thursday January 5, 2017 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mound Church, The Endowment and Development of Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, Food fund for Rabbit and Birds at United Methodist Village North Campus or Good Samaritan Hospice. Clarence Glen Leffler, 88, of Willow Hill, IL went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 31, 2016 at the United Methodist Village North Campus in Lawrenceville, IL.

Clarence was born on April 12, 1928 to Clarence Ishmael “Spoony” and Mary Elizabeth (Daugherty) Leffler. On June 28, 1950 he married Elizabeth Pauline Weck who preceded him in death on September 30, 2015.

Clarence owned and operated Leffler’s Garage in Willow Hill for almost 50 years and also farmed the family farm for many years. He graduated from Oblong High School in 1946. Clarence was a faithful member of Mound Community Church. Up until this past year he was still doing his own car maintenance, mowing his yard and would still take his daily walk. Clarence greatly enjoyed singing gospel music and was a regular at the Oblong area churches monthly sings. For 10 years he was the devoted caregiver for his wife Pauline.

Clarence is survived by one son Gary Leffler of Willow Hill, IL; Daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Gary Chapman of Casey, IL, Judy and Brian Neer of Lawrenceville, IL; and Daughter-in-law Anna Leffler of Willow Hill, IL; Seven Grandchildren Stacey Inboden, Stephanie Leffler, Mary Leffler, Dusty Inboden Harrison, Daniel Leffler II, David Leffler and Matthew Chapman; Four Step Grandchildren Brad Neer, Ashley Stearns, Scott Ross and Michael Ross Neighbors. Clarence is also survived by six Great Grandchildren Dallas Fancil, Jenny Fancil, Clarence Johnson, Blossom Johnson, Christopher Leffler and Gabriella Harrison; a brother and sister-in-law John and Elsie Leffler of Willow Hill, IL, along with several nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons Larry Joe and Daniel Leffler, infant Granddaughter Dorothy Leffler and brother Samuel Leffler.
