There will be a casual gathering of friends and family to celebrate Charlotte’s Life on Monday November 6, 2017 at the Crawford County Forest Preserve Building on Rt.33 between Oblong and Stoy from 5:30 – 8:30pm.  All of Charlotte’s friends and family are encouraged to come and celebrate Charlotte’s Life.

The family request that in lieu of flowers and expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Charlotte Cannon Memorial Fund c/o Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.

Charlotte Cannon Grundon, 66, of Oblong, IL passed away on Sunday October 29, 2017 surrounded by her family at her residence in Oblong, IL.

Charlotte was born in Lubbock, TX on November 6, 1950 to William Roy and Ila Faye (Gilmore) Cannon. On May 3, 1975 she married Robert Lee “Bob” Grundon who survives.

Charlotte worked as a waitress for many years. She was also the editor of the Oblong Gem, Palestine Pioneer and the Hutsonville Pearl. Charlotte actually started the Hutsonville Jewel. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Oblong Chamber of Commerce and the University of Illinois Extension Club. Charlotte enjoyed baking, cooking and sharing with others. Chica was Charlotte’s best buddy. Charlotte loved her family and all the times that she spent with them. The fall season was Charlotte’s favorite time of year.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Bob Grundon, Oblong, IL; son and daughter-in-law William and Heather Grundon, St. Louis, MO, daughter Bobbie Sutfin, Oblong, IL; two grandchildren Joey Grundon, Oblong,IL and Sammy Sutfin, Robinson, IL. Charlotte is also survived by a brother Bill Cannon of Arkansas, a sister Dora McCarty of Oregan, along with a niece Linda Cannon and nephew David Cannon both of Arkansas.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Wayne Cannon.
