A Gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.

A Celebration of Anita’s Life will be at 10:30am Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL. It was Anita’s wish to be cremated after the gathering and celebration. A family interment of remains will be at a later date in the Oblong Cemetery.

The Family request that a expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Oblong E.U.M. Church with envelopes at or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL.

Anita Louise Catt, 84, Oblong, IL, passed away Saturday night September 10, 2016 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL.

Anita was born in Crawford County, IL on July 28, 1932 and was the daughter of Chloris “Buster” Lorance and Oliaf “Pod” (Hill) Lorance.

Anita was a checker at the Oblong Index and then worked as a clerk at Harmon’s Drug Store for many years. She was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1950 and also served as Homecoming Queen; Anita was a member of the E.U.M. church in Oblong, IL. She enjoyed watching sports especially the “Fighting Illini” and was an avid fan of Elvis. Anita enjoyed music and attending her grandchildren’s school events.

Anita is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Rick L. and Sue Catt, Oblong, IL; three grandchildren and their spouses Mandy and Ben Lewis, Oblong, IL, Lucas and Beth Catt, Mattoon, IL and Brandon and Sarah Catt, Carol Stream, IL; six great-grandchildren Daniel, Hannah, Rachel and Emily Catt; Isaac Lewis and Amelia Catt; three nieces and their families; many cousins, friends and a sister-in-law Norma Lorance, Robinson, IL.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Larry Lorance.
