Charlotte L. Shryock, 78, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at the Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois. Born in Martin Township, Crawford County, Illinois on October 23, 1931, she was the daughter of Hugh J. Russell and Goldie M. (Nicholson) Russell. She was employed with Dorsey Kirk Insurance, Oblong, IL and Highland Christian Church, Robinson, IL. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Oblong, IL; Friends of Beck's Mill and the National Preservation Society. She enjoyed quilting, reading, traveling, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On May 16, 1948, she married Charles "Clifford" Shryock, who preceded her in death July 1975. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Imogene Shryock; two brothers-in-law, Raulin Shryock and Frank Dart.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles A. & Connie Shryock; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret L. & Joseph Thomas; three grandchildren, J. D. & Gina Martin, Melissa & James Vest and Rebecca Shryock; four great-grandchildren, Jaira D. Martin, Haley S. Vest, Garrett Vest and Dawson Vest; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie "Jim" & Connie Russell; three sisters and brother-in-law, Janet Dart, Sue Russell and Pat & Lee Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.

Bro. Rusty Morecraft will be officiating the funeral service. Per Charlotte's request cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service and her cremains will be buried in Berlin Cemetery at a later date.
