Clarence Shew, 88, rural Willow Hill, Illinois passed away at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, in Robinson, Illinois. Born in Jasper County, Illinois on June 14, 1922, he was the son of Merl Shew and Nellie (Lynch) Shew. He served with the U. S. Army during W. W. II. He was a farmer - grain, cattle and hogs. He was a member of the Oblong First Christian Church and the Oblong American Legion Post #219. He enjoyed gardening, hunting (quail & deer) and listening and informing others of the farm and weather reports.

On December 15, 1947, he married Lois Sholders, who preceded him in death on November 28, 2003. Also preceding him in death were his parents, twin sons, Dwight & Dewayne Shew and one granddaughter, Crystal Shew.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dale & Sherri Shew; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty & Gale Lockhart and Donna & Garry Ruddell; nine grandchildren, Brady Lockhart, Justin & Tiffany Lockhart, Dawn & Justin Wiles, Brittney & Steven Bennett, Jason & Barbara Ruddell, Whitley & Katie Shew, Tonya Midgett and Kelly Shew; six great-grandchildren, Lane & Gage Lockhart, Grant Wiles, Krysta Ruddell and Emily & Sierra; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil & Helen Shew and Gerald & Janet Shew; mother-in-law, Ruby Sholders; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Marcella Mason; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold & Jane Sholders, Garold & Marilyn Sholders and Terry Sholders; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janit & Finley Provines.

Bro. Dee Wolfe will officiate the funeral service. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
