Violet L. Gilman, 87, Oblong, Illinois passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, NJ. Born in Willow Hill, Illinois on July 14, 1922, she was the daughter of Dorse & Lizzie Shryock. She was employed with the Dorsey Kirk Insurance Agency, Oblong and later for Dart's Welcome Inn Bed & Breakfast. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Oblong, IL.

On July 23, 1940, she married James Eugene Gilman, who preceded her in death on January 21, 1985. Also preceding her in death were her parents; six brothers, Edgar, Raymond, Carl, Clifford, Frederick and Walter; and three sisters, Lenora, Sylvia and Dorothy.

Violet is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marcia & William Parker; four grandchildren, Richard & Frances Waters, Scott & Maureen Waters, Jessica & Tony Kondrich and Angela & James Migliaccio; and five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsey, Krista, Frederick & Abbey Rose.

Bro. Harry Randolph will be officiating the service with burial to follow in the Berlin Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois.
