James Leroy Gallington, 87, West Milton, Ohio and formerly of Oblong, Illinois passed away at 8:55 a.m. EST, Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Vitas Hospice, Dayton, Ohio. Born in West Terre Haute, Indiana on August 27, 1922, he was the son of Orville Gallington and Vay Crowther. He served with the U. S. Army during W. W. II with the 103rd Division. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Oblong.

On June 13, 1956, he married Helen Maria Dickson, who preceded him in death on July 17, 1988. On November 8, 1989, he married Mary Frances Higgins, who preceded him in death on August 29, 1998. Also preceding him in death were his parents.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Carl & Lisa Gallington; one daughter, Carol Sue Pruitt; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Herman & Gertrude McRoberts.

Rev. Leonard Waller will be officiating the funeral service. Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery.
