DONALD M. WISEMAN, 89, LIZTON, INDIANA AND FORMERLY OF STOY, ILLINOIS VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. FRIDAY JANUARY 9, 2009 ~ PULLIAM FUNERAL HOME, OBLONG, ILLINOIS, AND SATURDAY 8:00 A.M. UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. SATURDAY JANUARY 10, 2009 ~ PULLIAM FUNERAL HOME, OBLONG, ILLINOIS MILITARY RITES: CONDUCTED BY THE OBLONG AMERICAN LEGION POST #219 Donald M. Wiseman, 89, Lizton, Indiana and formerly of Stoy, Illinois passed away at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at The Villages of Avon ~ Avon, Indiana after a period of declining health. Born in Spencer, Indiana on October 2, 1919, he was the son of Rollie M. Wiseman and Martha Washington Cramer Wiseman. He served with the U. S. Army during W. W. II with the 41st Infantry Division in the South Pacific, where he was a medic. Donald was employed with Marathon Oil Company for 32 years in the Machine Shop. He was a life member of the American Legion; VFW; past member of the Elks and Masons; past President of Cold Foot Campers and NCHA; proud member of the 41st Infantry Division Association; past Treasurer for the Village of Stoy for many years. On September 4, 1948, he married Margarete Pemberton, who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Marjorie Wiseman; one sister, Gladys Evans; sisters-in-law, Lorena & Marvin Rutledge and Elma Dixson; Marty Rainford several nieces & nephews; great-nieces & nephews; and many friends. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray & Clifford; and one sister, Janie and their spouses. Burial will be in the Prairie Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois. |
