Omar E. Wilson, 28, Carbondale, IL and formerly of Oblong, IL passed away at 5:18 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009, Carbondale, IL from injuries sustained in a motorcycle / auto accident. Born in Sullivan, IN on December 10, 1980, he was the son of Homer "Bill" Wilson and Charlita Montejo Wilson. He was a graduate of Oblong High School ~ Class of 1998. He was a member of Vincennes University Sigma Pi Fraternity. He served with the U. S. Army. Currently he was a full time student at S. I. U. in Carbondale, IL. He was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Oblong. He enjoyed writing. Omar liked to laugh and make everyone else laugh.

He is survived by his parents, Homer "Bill" & Charlita Wilson; two brothers and sister-in-law, Homer J. & Ashley Wilson and William Wilson; half-brother, Gene & Mia Wilson; three sisters, Chary Wilson, Corrine Wilson & fiancee James O'Dell and Pemie Kittles; special friend Sarah Boone; and several nieces and nephews; niece Addyson O'Dell whom Omar was very close to.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer Johnson Wilson & Velma Wilson and Segundina Montejo; several aunts & uncles and special aunt, Nelly Akins.

Bill Ikemire will officiate the funeral service. Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
