Virginia M. Watts, 86, Oblong, IL passed away at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson, IL. Born in Annapolis, IL on May 25, 1922, she was the daughter of Charles Dallis Stephens and Vicey Fay (Cooley) Stephens. She was employed by area shoe factories in Robinson, Paris and Casey, IL; and she retired from Coil Sales in Marshall and Oblong, IL; she was also a homemaker. She was a member of the White Oak Church, rural Oblong; and the Chatter and Stitch Club; Virginia was a Sunday School teacher at White Oak. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, knitting and genealogy.

On July 12, 1986, she married C. Clinton Watts, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Vera Stephens; and one nephew, Charles Douglas Stephens.

She is survived by one step-son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Rhoda Watts; one step-daughter, Vicki Samson; two step-grandsons, Jason & Lisa Watts and Justin Watts; two step-granddaughters, Dawn Warner and Jessica & Daniel Miller; six step-great-grandchilldren; one brother and sister-in-law, Dean & Carolyn Stephens; and one sister and brother-in-law, Verlea "Lea" & Ferrell Fox; two nieces, Cheryl Johnson and Carol Vanarsdalen; one nephew, Duane Stephens and special neighbors Ralph & Marge Akins.

Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois.
