Ella "Polly" Wartsbaugh, 87, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009, at the Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois. Born in Jasper County, Illinois on February 8, 1921, she was the daughter of William Herman Hoover and Versa Mae (Sears) Hoover. She was a waitress many years ago, substitute cook at the Bend School and a devoted farm wife. Ella was a member of the Dogwood Prairie Church, rural Oblong and Morning Glories Home Extension. She also helped with the Mother's Club at the Bend School. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting and gardening. She loved flowers, cooking and baking pies.

On March 4, 1943, she married Ralph L. "Sonny" Wartsbaugh, who preceded her in death on October 26, 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Harvey Hoover, Lawrence "Nip" Hoover and Garland "John" Hoover; three sisters, Florence Graham, Emma Clark and Edith "Edie" Rice.

She is survived by on son and daughter-in-law, Darrell & Cheryl Wartsbaugh; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Nick Wilson; six grandchildren, Tom & Venita Wartsbaugh, Clint & Kara Wartsbaugh, Caleb & Carrie Wartsbaugh, Nathan Wilson, Nicole & Brian (Wilson) Willhite and Nile Wilson; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Wartsbaugh, Justin Wartsbaugh, Audrey Wartsbaugh, Garrett Wartsbaugh, Allyssa Shull and Cadence Wartsbaugh; brother-in-law, Robert Rice; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Hoover and Viola Wartsbaugh and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
