Argo R. Shook, 76, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL. Born in Robinson, IL on October 5, 1933, he was the son of Roy Shook and Pearl Miller Shook. He served with the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Caterpillar, Joliet, IL. He was a member of the White Oak Church, rural Oblong. On October 28, 1957, he married Carol Bruner, who survives. Also surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie & Debbie Shook, Richard Shook, Robert Shook, Randy Shook and Rodney & Angie Shook; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard & Gladys Shook, Raymond & Cheryl Shook, Roger Shook and Lloyd & Dorla Shook; one sister, Velma McCormick; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herman & Paul Shook; one sister, Blanche Snider; one brother-in-law, Don McCormick and one sister-in-law, Lillie Shook. Bro. Charlie Rains will officiate the service. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois. |
