Juanita R. Schlosser, 89, Oblong, Illinois died at 12:32 A.M. February 27, 2009, at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois. She was born in El Dorado, Kansas on April 13, 1919 and was the daughter of Arlington A. Parrott and Elsie O. Inboden. On January 9, 1938 she married Leo C. Schlosser who preceded her in death on July 4, 1990. Juanita worked at Helens Style Shop in Oblong for 3 years and then worked as a cook at the Oblong Grade School for the next 14 years until she retired. She was a member of Oblong First Christian Church, Oblong 20th Century Club; Oblong Oil Field Museum; 4 H Leader for many years; Oblong American Legion Post #219 Auxiliary; sang in the LTC Choir and a member for many years of the KJU Sunday School Class. Juanita enjoyed gardening, canning and singing.

Juanita is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Roy & Florence Schlosser; two daughters and sons-in-laws Donna & Mark Jacobs and Linda & Dick McCoy; six grandchildren D’andra & Michael Clark, Douglas Schlosser, Troy & Dawn Jacobs, Craig & Michelle McCoy, Brian & Shelly McCoy and Chad & Patty McCoy; two step grandchildren Gary & Brenda Henry and Janet & David Whikehart; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law Wanda Adams and Pauline & Tom Bailey; along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Juanita in death are her parents; one son Paul Schlosser; one grandson Todd Allen Jacobs; twin sisters Beulah Smith and Lulu Lowrance and two brother Lowell & Ralph Parrott.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery.
