Juanita J. Ping, 83, Effingham, Illinois and formerly of Oblong, Illinois passed away at 6:53 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Effingham Nursing & Rehab. Born on February 13, 1926, in Crawford County, Illinois near Bellair she was the daughter of Lester Scott and Flossie Matheny. Juanita was a graduate of Oblong High School ~ Class of 1944. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bellair Church of Christ. Juanita enjoyed flower gardening and reading.

On January 4, 1944, she married Kenneth L. Ping, who preceded her in death on November 15, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents; son-in-law, Kevin Hornbuckle and sister, Lucille Randolph.

Juanita is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Cynthia & Gene Turner and Peggy Hornbuckle; two step-grandchildren, Brent Turner and Gail Turner; one step great-grandson, Ryan Engel and one step-great-great-granddaughter, Ryley Engel.

Bro. Jimmy Rue will officiate the Service with burial in Harmony Cemetery.
