Mark H. “Ozzie” Oliver, 56, Lawrenceville, Illinois formerly of Oblong, Illinois, passed away Friday December 4, 2009 at 7:40 p.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital Vincennes, Indiana. Mark was born in Olney, Illinois, on February 26, 1953. He was the son of Jack Wayne Oliver and DeVeau (Hughes) Oliver. He had been married to Kathy Denise Schlichting. Mark was a former Equipment salesman for Vermeer, Ditchwitch and Gold Steel Buildings. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Central United Methodist Church, Oblong, Illinois. Mark lived in Arvarda, Colorado until he moved to Lawrenceville in 2008. He was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1971 and enjoyed playing golf and watching baseball and football.

Mark is survived by his mother DeVeau Oliver; two sons Nathan Hughes Oliver and Zachary Kenneth Oliver; one brother and sister-in-law Stephen & Lynda Oliver. Also surviving are a niece and three nephews.

Mark is preceded in death by his father and a sister Lynn Ellen Ritchie.

Per Mark’s wish, cremation rites were accorded and there will be no service and no visitation. Burial of his cremains will be Oblong Cemetery next to his mother and father.
