Marilyn Glezen Kirtland, 79, Champaign, Illinois and formerly of Oblong, Illinois passed away at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Columbus, Indiana on January 13, 1929, she was the daughter of Norman D. Cunningham and Eva Madge (Whisennand) Cunningham. Marilyn taught piano in her home and later at Lincoln Trail College. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Oblong. She grew up in Oblong and then studied Music at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She loved music of all kinds, traveling, reading and playing bridge. She was a Charter Member and first President of P.E.O. Chapter KS, Oblong. In 1992, she retired and moved to Champaign, Illinois. There she was active in the Champaign Urbana Symphony Guild and P.E.O. Chapter MM, Champaign.

On June 13, 1948, she married Bruce B. Glezen and together they raised their family in Oblong. Bruce preceded her in death on June 14, 1978. On December 31, 1981, she married James D. Kirtland, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1983. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Joseph and one brother Norman Cunningham.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bob" & Diane Glezen; four daughters and sons-in-law, Debby & Brian Ruddell, Robin & Craig Luebs, Sarah & Wayne Parker, Mary & James McMahon; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Cunningham.

Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
