Gary A. Dart, 68, Oblong, Illinois, passed away Thursday July 23, 2009 at the Effingham Rehab and Health Center, Effingham, Illinois. Gary was born in Robinson, Illinois on February 20, 1941 and was the son of Alonzo W. “Lonnie” Dart and Norma (Curtis) Dart. On December 15, 1989 he married Sharon Heck. Gary started working at L. S. Heath and Sons in Robinson in 1960, then with Leaf Candy Company and retired from Hershey Confectionary in 2003 as a Chocolate Technician after 43 years. Gary attended the Oblong Wesleyan Church and enjoyed talking on the CB to his friends, pitching horseshoes with his father, enjoyed old cars and the time that he spent with his friends and family.

Gary is survived by his wife Sharon; son – Joseph Dart; daughter and son-in-law Delberta & Alan Batman; grandson – Ruslan Batman; two brothers and sisters-in-laws Darrell & Roena Dart and Paul Frank & Debbie Dart; sister and brother-in-law Ann & John Nethery; Several nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-laws Carolyn Songer and Jeanette Redman.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents and several Aunts and Uncles.

Following the funeral service in accordance with Gary’s wishes his body will be cremated with a family burial service at a later date in Wilkin Cemetery.
