Ethel "Faye" (Houser) Cook, 96, Olney, IL and formerly of Oblong, IL passed away at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, IL. Born in Hidalgo, IL on August 29, 1912, she was the daughter of Charles Houser and Ethel Duvall. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Oblong Evangelical United Methodist Church. On January 8, 1930, she married Merdith "LaVerl" Cook, and they celebrated 72 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2002. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two great-grandchildren; four brothers: Lewis "Curly", Bernie "Hooker", Milburn "Felix" and William "Bill" Houser; and one sister, Ruby Sowers. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles & Elizabeth Cook, Jack & June Cook and Paul & Vicki Cook; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby & Bill Walden and Lenna & K. G. Ernst; 16 Grandchildren; 25 Great grandchildren: 9 Great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Hayes Cemetery, Hidalgo, Illinois. |
