John Wayne Tracy, 64, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong. Born on December 4, 1944, Pierceburg, Crawford County, Illinois. He was the son of John Edgar Tracy and Vera Mae Littlejohn Tracy. He was a graduate of Oblong High School ~ Class of 1962. He was Owner/Operator of Tracy's Barber Shop in Oblong for over 40 years. He was a member of the Oblong First Christian Church; Oblong Antique Tractor & Engine Club and former member of the Oblong Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed working and restoring his tractor; buying property and fixing it up and selling it; St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and University of Illinois sports.

On June 16, 1973, he married Joyce Phillippe, who survives. Also surviving is his mother, Vera Mae Tracy; three sons and daughters-in-law, James & Stephanie Tracy, Mike & Melinda Cofer and Bill & Anzhela Cofer; one daughter and son-in-law, Rachel & Jay Woodland; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Erin and Alex Cofer, Brandon Cofer, Shane Byrley, Adrienne and Elliott Woodland; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith & Doris Tracy, Kent & Katie Tracy, Douglas Tracy, Stanley Tracy and Phillip & Jody Tracy; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia Ann Slane, Carolyn & Jim McElhiney and Debra & Scott Johnston; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his father; one brother-in-law, Marion Dorrough and one sister-in-law, Donna Tracy.

Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
