James D. Stone, 89, Robinson, Illinois passed away at 12:44 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008, at his residence in Robinson, Illinois. Born in Pittsboro, Mississippi on April 9, 1919, he was the son of Virgil G. Stone and Eunice (Davis) Stone. James served with the U. S. Army during W. W. II. He was employed with Baskins Clothing in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Oblong and the E. M. Coulter American Legion Post 69, Robinson. He liked to watch tv and sports.

On January 26, 1962, he married Eva Mae Fowler, who preceded him in death on October 27, 1995. Also preceding him in death were her parents; one brother: James L. Stone; one sister: Robbie Jean Stone Johnson; and his step-mother: Shirley Pogner Stone.

James is survived by two brothers, Douglas L. Stone and Gregory L. Stone; one sister, Johnnie Fay Hedley; a niece Sara Sue & John Dappert; and a great-niece, Deana Diane Dappert.

Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
