Mildred "Mawsie" Songer, 96, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 2:33 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Cotillion Ridge Care Center, Robinson, Illinois. Born in Bellair, Illinois on October 3, 1911, she was the daughter of John Ira Finney and Nettie (Weck) Finney. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Oblong. Her hobbies included quilting; reading; watching birds especially cardinals.

On October 5, 1930, she married Albert Songer, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1984. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Doyle Earl Finney; one sister, Ethel Mason and one cousin, Millard Smith.

Suvivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry & Sue Songer; three daughters and son-in-law, Dixie Marshall, Anna Marie & Tom Wall and Marilyn Kintner; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; a niece Linda Finney Craker; and a nephew Keith Mason.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
