Ray Richart, 72, Portage, Indiana and formerly of Eddyville, Kentucky passed away April 12, 2008, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Born in Hardinville, on February 13,1936, he was the son of Clarence "Cap" Richart and Margaret Goff Richart. Ray graduated from Oblong High School - Class of 1954. He moved to Portage, Indiana in 1965 from Illinois. Ray worked as a millwright at Bethlehem Steel 30 years and then retired to Eddyville, Kentucky where he loved to spend time fishing at Lake Barkley.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Richey Richart; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy & Gayle Richart and Andy & Theresa Richart; one daughter, Sheila Bogart; four grandchildren, Rachel Richart, Amanda Richart, Drew Richart and Jordan Richart; one brother, Jimmy Richart; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Ann & Bill Weck, Nancy & Jim Bleil and Lawana Autenrieth; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve & Nancy Wall.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Jon Allen Richart who was killed in an accident while on patrol with the U.S. Army in Germany in June 1966.
